New Delhi, 02-04-2025 – Tata Electronics has announced the appointment of KC Ang as the President and Head of its Foundry Business at Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing. Ang will report directly to Randhir Thakur, CEO & MD of Tata Electronics, and will lead the company’s semiconductor foundry operations.
With nearly three decades of experience in the semiconductor industry, Ang previously held leadership positions at GlobalFoundries, one of the world’s top semiconductor manufacturers. His expertise is expected to drive Tata Electronics’ vision for chip manufacturing in India.
This appointment comes as Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing is making strides in establishing a $10-billion semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera, Gujarat, in collaboration with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (PSMC). The project is a significant step towards India’s semiconductor self-sufficiency under the India Semiconductor Mission.
As global demand for advanced semiconductor chips continues to rise, Tata Electronics aims to position India as a key player in the semiconductor supply chain. The Dholera semiconductor fab is expected to bring technological advancements, employment opportunities, and increased investments in the region.
