In a major development for Gujarat’s infrastructure growth, the Government of India has officially issued a notification for Dholera Airport, marking a significant step toward its operational launch.

As per the latest update, runway testing at Dholera International Airport is expected to take place during June and July 2025, paving the way for full-scale operations in the following months. The airport is situated just 63 km from Bhavnagar and is a key component of the Dholera Special Investment Region (Dholera SIR).

This strategic progress comes after the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) granted permission for import and export cargo handling at the airport, signaling its readiness to support both domestic and international logistics.

With its vast infrastructure and direct connectivity to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), Dholera Airport is set to become a major aviation and cargo hub in Western India.
